If you’re on the lookout for your next culinary haunt during September’s GastroMonth, we urge you to give fine-dining Indian restaurant Rang Mahal a shot. Abandoned all preconceived notions of curry-covered basmati rice when Indian cuisine comes to mind as the restaurant put a contemporary spin on dishes offered from its six-course set menu($118). Some highlights include Masala Rice Sushi, featuring sticky Ambemohar rice that wraps a mix of crispy vegetables, Spiced Roast Duck served with broccoli garlic pesto, and the Gulab Jamun & Rabi – a classic dessert of deep-fried milk dough balls. Of course, the restaurant gives the sweet treat a shakeup by preparing the balls live, tableside.
