2. Relive the past through your taste buds
From now until 31 Aug, modern Sichuan and Cantonese restaurant Min Jiang at One North turns back time with iconic dishes from the 60s to 80s. Some culinary highlights include the massive appetiser platter, The Heritage Treasures Platter (from $108 for six pax), of fried Techew-style shrimp roll, melt-in-your-mouth braised spare ribs and deep-fried crab meat stuffed with chicken liver and salted egg yolk, and the Golden Fortune ‘Kampong’ Chicken ($80) which is marinated overnight in Chinese wine before flash-roasted on high heat the next day. The fun part of the dish is breaking its dough-encased facade open with iron mallets, revealing the bird’s seasoned meat in all of its glory.
