5. Chill out at this world-famous music and arts festival

Wanna travel but not up for a wintry vacation? You can still soak up the fun year-end atmosphere around the region – Thailand’s Wonderfruit Festival! It’s not a fruit festival, but the name does capture Wonderfruit’s celebration of our wonderful natural world and culture. From 13 to 16 December, the boho chic festival in Pattaya, Thailand, brings together top-notch live music, unique art installations, and world-class food, all fully sustainable. No plastic is used or allowed, while the organisers also uses biodegradable tableware, cutlery and cups for the food. The social consciousness extends to the food (sustainably sourced from Thai farmers), talks and workshops too. With these eco-friendly policies, Wonderfruit shows that sustainable living is just as much a part of Thai culture as the music, art and cuisine. So you can dance the night away to great local and international musical performances, immerse yourself in the cool boho environment, and feast on the incredible Thai food, knowing that you’re also celebrating love for the Earth.
