The Biggest Dinosaur Exhibition Is Coming To Science Centre Singapore

Come October, Singaporeans will be transported back hundreds of millions of years, into a world where giants roamed the Earth and cataclysmic events shaped the course of life as we know it.

In collaboration with the Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum, Science Centre Singapore is unveiling its most ambitious showcase yet. DINOSAURS | EXTINCTIONS | US. Opening on 11 October 2025, this monumental exhibition will unite two globally acclaimed showcases, Dinosaurs of Patagonia and Six Extinctions, under one roof for the very first time.

Sprawling across 3,000 square metres, the exhibition promises to be nothing short of spectacular. Visitors will encounter 33 rare fossils and over 60 meticulously crafted full-scale models that chart Earth’s prehistoric drama across three interactive zones. More than just a collection of skeletons and stones, this immersive experience will guide guests through 400 million years of evolutionary triumphs and cataclysmic losses, reminding us that extinction is as much a part of life as survival.

The show’s star comes straight from Patagonia’s fossil-rich grounds: a towering full-scale cast of Patagotitan mayorum. At 40 metres in length and weighing an estimated 70 tonnes in life, this behemoth is among the most enormous creatures ever walking the planet. Standing beneath its enormous frame, visitors will experience firsthand what it feels like to be dwarfed by nature’s most majestic giants.

But dinosaurs are only half the story. In Six Extinctions, curated by Gondwana Studios, guests will confront nature’s most significant upheavals — five mass extinction events that reshaped life on Earth. Among the highlights is a close encounter with “Scotty,” the largest Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered. Yet the exhibition’s most sobering chapter lies not in the past but in the present: the sixth extinction, unfolding in our lifetime, driven by humanity’s impact on biodiversity.

The Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum lends a poignant local voice. Specimens of Singapore’s own vanished wildlife, including the cream-coloured giant squirrel (Ratufa affinis affinis) and the rufous-collared kingfisher (Actenoides concretus), remind us that extinction is not a distant tragedy but a reality that has touched our own shores. Visitors will also encounter cutting-edge scientific methods to study extinction patterns, offering hope that knowledge can guide us toward conservation before more species disappear.

What sets this exhibition apart is not just its scale, but its message. It is awe-inspiring and thought-provoking — a chance to marvel at the grandeur of prehistoric life while reflecting on humanity’s role in shaping the planet’s future. By bringing together two world-class exhibitions and weaving in Singapore’s own ecological story, DINOSAURS | EXTINCTIONS | US invites guests to see themselves not as distant spectators, but as participants in Earth’s unfolding history.
