Do you need a Little Miss Sunshine to brighten your stressful day? Or a Mr. Impossible to solve your toughest problems? For over 45 years, the Mr. Men and Little Miss gang have been bringing colour and joy to the whole family through stories and accompanying illustrations found in their adorable, pocket-sized books. And soon, you can take a trip down memory lane when these iconic storybook characters visit Singapore!
Following the success of the Tokidoki, Care Bears, Miffy and Cinnamoroll editions, Japanese-French café Kumoya will hold a Mr. Men and Little Miss pop-up café from 5 July to 30 September, where food styling is once more led by food artist Shirley Wong of Little Miss Bento fame. The café will also offer an exclusive lineup of limited edition Mr. Men and Little Miss merchandise for you to bring home.
So what sets this café apart from Kumoya’s previous themed adventures? A Singaporean twist to both the menu and the café’s interior, just in time for National Day. Iconic sights like the Singapore Flyer, our MRT trains and the Esplanade will be adorning the walls. Look out for Little Miss Princess in a Sarong Kebaya! There will even be a photobooth where you can take a selfie with her.
Kumoya is not kidding around with the Singaporean twist in this cafe installation, going as far as straying away from the usual Japanese-French offerings to present local dishes that are style in the Mr. Men and Little Miss theme.
You can expect cheeky dishes and beverages like the Mr. Strong Chili Crab Pasta, the Mr. Bump Knock-out Nasi Lemak, and a Chendol Gula Melaka Frappe. Buns of burgers are even modelled after the little white storybooks.
What's more, all frappes come with a complimentary limited edition Mr. Men and Little Miss inflatable fridge magnets, while limited edition coasters are offered with other drink purchases.
These are some of the delicious items on the menu that we are excited to try:
