If you didn't get to celebrate Valentine's Day on 14 Feb, you may want to take a cue from this South Korean 'holiday' happening tomorrow.

Every year on 14 Apr, singles in Korea who didn't receive any gifts on "White Valentine's" celebrate Black Valentine's by basically having a treat-yourself day.

Here's how you can follow in their footsteps and throw a self-lovin' party, Korean style:

Take a chance with speed-dating

A huge trend in South Korea, speed-dating and blind dates are a popular way of making new friends and scoping out the market for a potential partner. Black Valentine’s serves as an extra push for singles to head out and meet new folks – there are whole gatherings, mass meet-ups and the works revolving around speed-dating.

The South Korean government even sponsors some of these events, so they are often held on a pretty large scale.

Perhaps the Koreans are on to something attending dating events. For those in Singapore, try out GaiGai’s dating events just for singles, and you can meet someone new or just have a fun time.
