You know what they say:  The city truly comes alive after dark!

So witness it for yourself at the 11th edition of Singapore Night Festival, happening from 17 to 25 August at the Bras Basah-Bugis precinct.

It goes without saying that lights are the heart of the Night Festival. But this year, visitors can not only snap some Insta-worthy shots with 16 light installations, but also interact with many of them. Besides the visual treats, the revelry continues with 27 live performances from a diverse array of arts disciplines. Local artists take the spotlight for this boost in creativity, making the festival a great way to celebrate local arts and culture.

4. World of WearableArt

Ever wondered who designs Lady Gaga’s eccentric outfits? At this year’s Night Festival, you can learn more about one of her favourite designers, the British duo Maria Tsopanaki and Dimitri Mavinis, who have also dressed other icons like the Black Eyed Peas and Jessie J, by taking a close look at an acclaimed piece they created. Their Maori-inspired outfit, Princess Niwareka, bagged awards at the 2016 World of WearableArt, the renowned international design competition held annually in New Zealand. Teaming up with World of WearableArt, the Festival will showcase eight spectacular finalist garments from the competition in a fashion exhibit set to amaze. Besides Princess Niwareka, the eight pieces also include a stunning red outfit by Singapore-based fashion designer and NTU Professor, Galina Mihaleva.
