5. Intimidator 305

To round off the few roller coasters featured from the United States, we head back to the East coast in Doswell, Virginia at Kings Dominion amusement park. With the first drop of 91m at an angle of 85 degrees,  the Intimidator 305 makes it a must-ride roller coaster. Despite not being over 90 degrees, the drop is said to be so steep that riders at the back of the train would suddenly be thrown off their seats and into the restraints, making them feel as though they are being tossed out of their seats. After this gargantuan drop, the train makes a swift 270-degree right turn relatively close to the ground, reaching about 5G’s before climbing a 46m airtime hill. The three-minute long ride is not just fast but also intense, proven by the multiple twists and turns that are both acute and unexpected. When the attraction first opened, some riders were said to have blacked out from the every first drop causing the theme park to make several modifications. Despite the changes, the Intimidator 305 is clearly not for the faint-hearted.
