5 Spectacular Sights at i Light Marina Bay 2017

This year’s edition brings twists to its light art installations and festival activities

On evenings from 3-26 Mar, the Marina Bay waterfront promenade will burst into a symphony of light and festivities as part of the annual i Light Marina Bay.

Beyond the 20 light art installations by artists from around the globe - and the yummy pop-up finds along the water's edge - this year’s festival will feature even more activities, through which the public can also contribute to community causes.

Here are five stellar gems to look out for at the festival:

3. Light art pieces to adopt

Like what you see? You may be able to spruce up your home with some of the beautiful light art at the festival. Linking the festival hubs together is a necklace of 20 light art installations along the Marina Bay waterfront promenade. Designed by artists from nine countries including Singapore, these pieces are created with energy-saving lighting or environmentally friendly materials.

After the festival, local artist Lee Yun Qin will be offering some 800 intricate stalks from her work, “MoonFlower”, for public adoption. Made of wire mesh and lit with a solar-powered LED bulb, each “moonflower” can be adopted at a minimum of $5, with all proceeds going towards the Garden City Fund.

Adopt a moonflower here.
