Celebrate your child as well as your inner child

Ever since Singapore decided to make Children’s Day the first Friday of October, we can get together as a family for a whole long weekend of fun! The best gift for your little ones is taking them out and spending some great quality time with them. Here are five exciting activities and events happening around Singapore on the official Children’s Day (Friday, 5 October), and over the weekend. It’s not only for kids below the age of twelve too – get in touch with your playful side as you celebrate the joys of childhood.

2. Octoburst! A Children’s Festival

You’ll never be bored at Octoburst! The annual Children’s Day festival returns for its 16th edition from 5 to 7 October at the Esplanade, bursting with three days’ worth of fun activities for you and your family. Most of the activities are free too! Get your imaginative juices flowing with theatre, dance, music, and crafts. For some outdoor creativity, head to the Pipe-ful Play Garden at the Esplanade Courtyard, and work with your family and the rest of the community to build a huge pipe maze. We’re also excited for the whimsical dance performance inspired by Alice in Wonderland’s tea party, and “Hold My Hand,” a cute puppet show about two siblings and their imagination.
