Celebrate Singapore’s birthday, no matter where you are!

No tickets to NDP this year? No problem! Our city is buzzing with events and activities on the big day, you won’t be bored, even if you decide you stay home and chill. We’d go so far as to say that these ten activities happening on 9 August are more fun than attending the parade:

Kick off the National Day celebrations with some furry little Singaporeans at the Singapore Zoo! For the month of August, our favourite Mandai Zoo is bringing together the inaugural National Day edition Wild Discoverer Tour where guests get the special opportunity to feed young rhinos and catch a highly anticipated cheetah conditioning session. If it happens to be your lucky day, you may even get the chance to feast your eyes on some colugos, monitor lizards and long-tailed macaques. Do not fret if you are not a morning person, as the Singapore Zoo also encourages you to go on a naturistic adventure on the WILDerful Singaporean Trail at your own comfortable pace across the three day parks – Jurong Bird Park, River Safari, and the Singapore Zoo. Remember to catch some wildlife in action at the animal presentations, saluting and commemorating the nation’s sovereignty as well! If you’re feeling peckish after the walks and shows, stop by the Zoo’s Kampong Mandai for some delicious local treats. Local residents who purchase tickets to the Singapore Zoo in the month of August enjoy a 53% discount on admissions to either the Singapore Bird Park or the River Safari. Grab your friends and family and celebrate Singapore’s birthday with the wild this year!
