Popular Hokkaido Cafe, Baristart Coffee, Arrives In Singapore: Now Open At Tras Street!

Tuck into offerings made with exclusive BIEI Jersey Milk from Hokkaido

Baristart Coffee is tucked away along Tras Street, offering a quiet respite for those who need a break in the Tanjong Pagar business district. This cafe is the first overseas outlet from its original cafe located in Sapporo, Hokkaido; and garnered popularity for serving coffee featuring the unique Hokkaido-exclusive BIEI Jersey Milk.

BIEI Jersey Milk Coffee

What is BIEI Jersey Milk though? Produced by Brown Jersey cows—a rare species in Hokkaido; only eight hundred of such cattle are left, making for barely 1% of the cow population in Hokkaido, thus being extremely exclusive! It’s rich, creamy and slightly sweet taste makes it a perfect choice for the cafe’s coffee drinks.

Apart from their signature coffee drinks, Baristart also serves up a variety of yummy offerings such as the Tuna & Avocado Salad with Wasabi Dressing ($14.80) featuring thick slices of pan-seared tuna seasoned with black pepper and shichimi togarashi; served alongside mixed salad, kaiware, avocado and finished off with a lemon vinaigrette.

Tuck into the hearty Hokkaido Carbonara ($17.80) featuring pasta in a super creamy sauce, concocted with Baristart’s signature Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk. Tossed with smoky Hokkaido Kurobuta bacon,  the dish is finished off with a perfectly poached egg, with a dash of black pepper and Parmigiano.

The cutest dessert we’ve ever seen, this adorable Shiro Kuma Hokkaido shaved ice ($9.80) is definitely insta-worthy! Simply drizzle the Hokkaido BIEI Jersey Milk all over the brimming bowl and enjoy it together with the vanilla ice cream for a refreshing treat! Hidden underneath is a plethora of fresh fruits, including orange, mango, white peach and strawberry. It also comes with a side of homemade syrup, such as coffee, strawberry, mango and green tea flavours
