Reuben: Comprising corned beef, Swiss cheese and sauerkraut.
Croque Monsieur: Grilled ham and cheese (Emmental or Gruyère) sandwich, sometimes coated in béchamel sauce (sauce blanche).
BLT: Named for its ingredients — bacon, lettuce and tomato.
Sub: Short for a submarine, it usually consists of a long roll of bread split width-wise and filled with a choice of meat, vegetables and sauces.
Monte Cristo: Sliced ham and cheese (Emmental or Gruyère) between slices of French toast, and batter-fried.
