The once platform-filled floors of Home Club have been smoothed out, creating the illusion of more space. A joint collaboration between Bed Concepts and Home Club, Canvas Singapore aims to provide a space where art will converge with entertainment and the amazing Singapore nightlife.

Canvas Singapore officially launched Jul 30 with artists such as Alvin Tan of PHUNK and known photographer Russel Wong, who presented 20 photos from his works over the years.

Russel Wong is the first Singaporean to break into the Hollywood movie industry, and he belongs to an exclusive group of photographers that shoot the covers for TIME Magazine.

“The launch of Canvas Singapore is really to showcase the flexibility that will be made available for artists to exhibit in. From installations and murals to short films and photography, we can demonstrate how much of a blank canvas the venue can be,” said Mahen Nathan, the co-owner of Canvas Singapore.

Party Nights

The club also intends to bring in a slew of international DJ’s starting with Eton Messy from the United Kingdom, who came for the official opening. The in-house team at Canvas Singapore plays a cross between underground music and commercial music on normal days.

Clubbers may also see the return of Singaporean drag-queen Kumar for fortnightly stand-up shows at Canvas Singapore. The cover charge of $20-$25 to enter includes a complimentary drink. Admission is free during the day, should you wish to view the exhibitions.
