Me@OUE: A New Menu And A Great View

Me@OUE refreshes menu with new offerings from its Japanese, French and Chinese kitchens

By Nicole-Marie Ng

With possibly the best view of Marina Bay, Me@OUE is the perfect place for both after work drinks or a full course meal.

Unwind on a plush sofa, cocktail in hand. Don’t forget to check out their new tapas as well. I couldn’t help myself from munching on the freshly fried Salmon Skin with Salted Egg Yolk ($18) and crispy Squid Paste Pancake with Thai Chilli Sauce ($18).

Three Cuisines, One Restaurant

After drinks, step into the swanky main dining room for your main course. There’s something for everyone with Japanese, French and Chinese dishes on the menu.

The Chinese menu is particularly noteworthy. It features a line-up of authentic Chinese fare curated by Celebrity Chef Chen Kentaro, son of Iron Chef Chinese, Chen Kenichi.

Braised cod

Braised Cod Fish with Dried Scallop, Bean Curd Skin, Yellow Chives, Vermicelli and Marinated Red Chilli.

The Braised Cod Fish ($45) from the Chinese menu blew me away. The Cod Fish was first lightly fried, allowing it to retain a firm exterior. The light and spicy broth was then poured over it and served with springy Vermicelli.

Kani Salad

Kani Salad with Crab Claw, Binito Vinaigratte Jelly, Japanese Yam Tomato and Water Shield.

Other dishes I enjoyed were the Pistachio Crusted Lamb Rack ($60) from the French menu and the Kani Salad ($30) from the Japanese menu.

The lamb rack was incredibly tender and without any of the gaminess you would expect from lamb.

As for the Kani Salad, it’s something that you just need to try as it defies explanation. The Binito Vinaigratte Jelly used as the base of the salad is delicate and refreshing, complimenting the natural sweetness of the shredded crab meat.

With its cosmopolitan menu, Me@OUE is a great option for a meal with foreign colleagues. The lunch menu also changes every two weeks, ensuring that you’ll never get sick of having a working lunch, no matter how boring the discussion at hand.
