Best Places To Eat Hairy Crabs In Singapore

The arrival of autumn in Singapore is marked by more than just a change in the calendar; it heralds the return of one of China’s most coveted seasonal delicacies: the hairy crab.

1. 藝 yì by Jereme Leung

From 14 October to 17 November 2025, fine dining restaurant yì by Jereme Leung at Raffles Hotel Singapore is celebrating this fleeting indulgence with an exclusive menu, “An Ode to Hairy Crab.”

Sourcing premium crabs directly from China’s renowned Lake Taihu, Chef Jereme Leung transforms the crustacean’s delicate sweetness and rich, golden roe into a series of refined and inventive dishes. This limited-time engagement presents a unique opportunity to experience the pinnacle of seasonal Chinese gastronomy.

Guests are invited to discover the artistry of the hairy crab through innovative creations that transcend traditional steamed preparations. Highlights include the Roasted Chicken Wings stuffed with Premium X.O. Sauce & Hairy Crab Roe (S$68++), where the smoky flavour of the wings meets the opulent richness of the roe for a perfect bite. For those who enjoy texture, the Sichuan-style Crispy Fish Maw stuffed with Shrimp Paste & Hairy Crab Roe (S$68++) offers a satisfying crunch that gives way to a savoury filling accented with a subtle Sichuan spice. The true centrepiece, however, is the aromatic Baked Hairy Crab with Lemongrass & Garlic (S$148++ per piece), which is thoughtfully served alongside a warm Rose & Ginger Tea—a harmonious pairing that enhances the crab’s flavour while cleansing the palate. This menu is a must-try for any discerning gourmand seeking to capture the essence of the season.
