From Hello Kitty to Cinnamoroll, Singapore has proven that its love for Sanrio characters is truly boundless, where the proliferation of mainstay and pop-up character-themed cafés is seemingly its resounding gesture of affection.

Love for these Japan-created creatures has since reached new heights with the news that a My Melody-themed café has launched in Singapore.

Taking form in 1976, My Melody is a white rabbit that channels Little Red Riding Hood with a red or pink hood that covers her bunny ears. Often seen wearing a bow or flower on the right ear, the rabbit is described as an honest, polite and good-natured girl.

Slated to set up shop at Suntec City, the 38-seater café is themed Strawberry Paradise, featuring an indoor alfresco setup that is decked out in floral arch, murals and even a cottage house. Strawberry motifs are said to have a commanding influence to the decor.

The café's menu will comprise five mains, six desserts and seven rabbit-themed beverages, where their culinary artistry is conceptualised by sought-after food artist Shirley Wong of Little Miss Bento.
