Fall in love with the white puppy character from Sanrio as you dine in a wonderland of fluffy clouds

On most days, Kumoya, which stands for a fluffy cloud house, is a Japanese-French cafe serving deconstructed parfaits and dainty eclairs.

Come 17 May, diners will be greeted with loofahs of clouds and powder-blue furnishings adorned with cherubic characters as the cafe transforms its entirety for a pop-up collaboration with the adorable Sanrio character Cinnamoroll.

Conceptualised by Kumoya owner Joseph Koh and food artist Shirley Wong of Little Miss Bento fame, the venture is the duo's bid to create a fun dining experience through the white puppy character.

From mains and beverages to desserts and sweet takeaways, the well-thought presentation of each dish not only showcases Wong's eye for details, but also reflects her passion for the culinary arts.

For instance, garnishings of fishcake and ham are all painstakingly cut out in stars and hearts, while buns are fitted with oblong-shaped meringues to imitate the floppy ears of Cinnamoroll.

So float into the Cinnamoroll x Kumoya pop-up cafe when it opens from 17 May to 13 Aug. Muslim diners are welcome as the cafe is halal-certified.

Do note there is a minimum spending of $10 per person and dining time may be limited to 90 minutes.

Here's what we tried and loved:

5. Fly-in-the Clouds Yuzu Chiffon Cake, $15.90

Our hearts ached when we sank our forks into the chiffon cake, which bore a grinning Cinnamoroll piped in icing. Accompanied by fluffy cotton candy and berries with cream, the buttery taste of the chiffon cake overwhelmed the yuzu flavour. Nonetheless, it was a delightful end to our meal.
