It’s Friday evening, but rather than winding down for the week, actress Irene Ang is happily rattling off a list of her favourite makan (eating) spots in Singapore to us.
“I’m like the Wikipedia of food,” she jokes as she names hawker stalls in rapid fire.
Besides food, Ang says she is a lover of “all things old”, which was why she signed on as executive producer for My Love, Sinema, an upcoming local film set in the 1950s and 60s.
We explore Singapore — past and present — with her.

A version of this article appeared in the print edition of Weekender, Issue 158, August 5 - August 18, 2016, with the headline 'Down memory lane with Irene Ang'.
