Barraka Bar and Restaurant is a chilled out and classy place for after-work drinks and nosh
If you are looking for a place to have some tapas and to chill with a mojito after work, you should give Barraka Bar and Restaurant a try.
Nestled in the chill-out enclave of Robertson Quay, the crowd there is a good mix of expats and locals relaxing or walking their dogs after work, with an almost out-of-Singapore feel.
Good Tapas for Starters
Their Sparkling Sangria ($10 a glass) is a refreshing and palate-cleansing aperitif. It is perfect when paired with their tapas such as the Boquerones En Vinagre, fresh anchovies seasoned in olive oil, vinegar and garlic, and the Pulpo a la Gallega ($21), boiled octopus Galician style with red paprika, rock salt and olive oil.
Avoid the potato dishes at Barraka as they have not gotten the style down pat; most of them are too starchy and dry.
The Main Attraction
Should you feel peckish, do order their Paella de Mariscos ($38 for two, $75 for four). We liked the generous amount of seafood
and flavourful rice. It is very filling and is sufficient for more than the stated amount of people the serving is for if you are
small eaters.
Check it out and chill out.
Barraka is located at Robertson Walk, 11 Unity Street, #01-18/29, Singapore 237995. Tel: 6737 9130
