One of the best assets to have in doing a renovation project is time. But when Habitat One was commissioned to design this apartment at Haig Court, time was not on their side.
“The owners wanted to move in before the school holidays and we basically had five weeks to complete the project,” said principal designer Sri Redjeki Sukardi.
Still, the short time frame did not stop the design team from pulling off a renovation miracle.
Simple Does It
When time is short, design battles have to be chosen and it turned out that a simple dining area was sufficient for the family. Save for a nice dark wood dining set and a pendant lamp, little else was done to the space.
Instead, it was the adjacent kitchen that got most of the attention with elements like a chalkboard wall to enliven the space.
