GastroFest Shangri-La Singapore is a one-day-only event that promises an afternoon of indulgence and feasting – headlining the festival are the hotel’s two renowned restaurants; Waterfall Ristorante Italiano, and The Line; one of Singapore’s most well-loved and best buffet restaurants.

Savour classic Italian dishes from Waterfall Ristorante: we loved the Italian Cold Cuts with Burrata, and comfortingly hearty home-made Fresh Pasta with Chef Danielle’s Signature Italian Sauces.

Or dig into dishes from the amazing and sumptuous variety offered by The Lines’ 16 international show kitchens: specialties such as Murgh Musalam (garlic-ginger chicken curry), Salmon Aburi and Pan-Seared Foie Gras with Pickled Red Cabbage and Blueberries. We loved the fragrant and moreish Seafood Paella, reminding us of sunsets in Spain – don’t forget to drizzle a little lemon juice over it! For dessert, go crazy with creative desserts like the Sweet Hotdog and Burgers, Crazy Cake Shakes and Nitro Popcorn live station!

Still hungry? No problem!

There will be pop-up stations helmed by partner establishments by the likes of TONO Cevicheria, Meat Smith, Springleaf Prata, Coconut Club as well as The Pantree.

There’s no need to visit the various Meat Smith locations to try their signature offerings of fall-off-the-bone tender Char Siew Pork Rib unique to Meat Smith Gluttons Bay; surprisingly meaty and deliciously charred Smoked Spiced Cauliflower with Tomato Relish from Meat Smith Little India; or the amazingly flavourful 14-hour Smoked Salt-and-Pepper-rubbed Brisket from Meat Smith Telok Ayer; when you get have them all here!

One of Singapore’s pioneer ceviche specialty restaurants, TONO Cevicheria, will also be presenting three exclusive GastroFest creations – we especially loved the light and refreshing Peruvian Japanese Ceviche made with tuna and scallops, tossed in a mirin, yuzu and chilli dressing!

If you’d like a taste of something local, head to the Springleaf Prata pop-up: they’ll be serving up signatures like their Ultimate Murtabak and Signature Pratas! Or get a refreshing iced Chendol from Coconut Club to quench your thirst, and fluffy Min Chiang Kueh from The Pantree, for a hit of nostalgia.

It’s an afternoon of indulgence after all, and we did mention a Gin Garden… Taste an impressive selection of boutique spirits from all around the globe, including brands like Portobello Road and Le Gin 1&9 at the exclusive Gin Garden presented by East Imperial and Drinksfellas. Sip on a customised gin and tonic prepared with East Imperial’s unique range of tonics and sodas such as the newly launched Royal Botanic Tonic, that is delightfully light and zesty. Finish off your cocktail with your pick of fresh toppings from the Garnish Table and Herb Garden.

There will also be other activities if you’d like to take a break from all that feasting!

Take part in a collaborative canvas artwork specially created for GastroFest by local illustrator, Pearlyn K. Min of Pearlyn & Paper at the Art Jamming Lawn presented by Veuve Clicquot, and make your mark on the art. Or, just jam to the grooves by DJ Justo, and the live Cuban and Latin American music from Havana Social Club.

Keep your little ones entertained with activities organised by Buds by Shangri-La, the hotel’s unique interactive programme for children with supervision by dedicated minders. They can participate in handicraft-making, movie screenings and more at the Garden Terrace, located at the same level as the event, while parents soak up the festivities and savour the delectable epicurean offerings and drinks.

Tickets to GastroFest are priced at $298 nett; with free-flow of Veuve Clicquot Champagne, cocktails from the Gin Garden, wines, craft beers, juices and soft drinks; $228 nett with free-flow of juices and soft drinks.
