Recipe: Chicken Pastil By Asian Food Channel

Steamed rice with fragrant sauteed chicken wrapped in banana leaves for a aromatic touch. A popular Filipino delicacy that will surely entice your guest!

Ingredients

Serves 3 -4 people

  • 4 pcs chicken breast
    About 150 g per chicken breast
  • 2 cups rice
    Rinsed
  • 4 banana leaves
  • 1 large yellow onion
    Chopped
  • 6 cloves garlic
    Minced
  • 5 cm ginger
    Minced
  • 3 Tbsp fish sauce
  • 3 Tbsp light soy sauce
  • 4 ½ cups water
  • 3 Tbsp vegetable oil

Step 1 – Cook rice

  • In a pot on high heat, add 4 ½ cups water with rinsed rice. Bring water to a boil.
  • Once boiling, reduce to low heat and let it simmer for 10 minutes until rice has fully absorbed water. Set aside to cool.
