6. Set out on a glacier hike

Like ice diving, you may want to consider setting out on a glacier hike for an action-packed vacation in Iceland! Hiking along the glaciers’ crevasses and walls means treading on slippery iced surfaces in sub-zero temperatures – an activity that is certainly no walk in the park. Consider hiking in areas of Svinafellsjökull is in the Skaftafell Nature Reserve, where great mountain hiking trails and waterfalls are in abundance, or Europe’s largest glacier of Vatnajökull that connects to other glaciers, including Svinafellsjökull.
