5. Go whale-watching

If bird-watching is not your thing, then how about witnessing the majesty of Earth’s largest mammal out at sea? Iceland serves as the best place for whale-watching as the surrounding waters are rich with their food, along with the lasting daylight during summer and relatively shallow waters, that makes the Icelandic ocean an extremely favourable feeding area for the whales. Specific areas to catch these aquatic beauts are at Reykjavík, where you may even catch sight of white-beaked dolphins, humpback whales and harbour porpoises, and  Grundarfjörður or Ólafsvík to see playful orcas! A boat tour is recommended for whale-watching.
