Enjoy stunning, 360 degree views at Vertigo.

Just less than 10 minutes away from the busy shopping district where Siam Paragon and Siam Square are, Banyan Tree Bangkok is a surprise find hidden in the heart of the city.

Even finding it is a little bit tricky, as we soon learned, because it’s not exactly situated along the main road. Instead, you’ll only find the main lobby of the hotel after turning in to a small, narrow lane beside Thai Wah Tower off Sathon Tai Road.

Everything from the warm welcome (think: cold towels, jasmine flower wreaths and the refreshing blue Butterfly Pea Flower Drink) to the check-in process spells Thai hospitality.

The Serenity Club rooms are located on the 50-58th floor.

As we were lucky enough to book into one of the spacious Serenity Club Twin rooms, we were also afforded the privilege to check in at the Club Lounge on the 19th floor. An exclusive but inviting space, the lounge is where guests can enjoy their daily buffet breakfast, complimentary drinks and snacks, and a Thai beer or two during happy hour.

What’s Banyan Tree without a treat at the spa? Though treatments tend to veer on the pricey side (upwards of $135 for a 60min massage), you know you’re spending good money with expert therapists and luxe amenities. The hotel even has a dedicated Spa Sanctuary Suite package where you can enjoy complimentary and unlimited spa treatments in the comfort of your own room. We hear that’s pretty popular with celebrities, and no wonder!

Once you’re feeling a little peckish, head to renowned Thai restaurant, Saffron, for stunning renditions of dishes like Tom Yam Goong or Banana Blossom Salad with Marinated Prawns. In fact, with 11 different dining options ranging from Chinese food to fine dining on Apsara, a river cruise, it’s hard to stay hungry here.

Good food and drinks await you on the 61st floor at Moon Bar.

We especially enjoyed our dinner and tipple at Vertigo & Moon Bar. Located on the 61st floor, you’ll get beautiful, unobstructed aerial views of the city. Sipping on a Vertigo Sunset (Malibu with pineapple, cranberry and lime juice) while looking out at the skyscrapers and bright lights, it’s easy to see why Bangkok is called the City of Angels.
