Day 1

10am

Cara: Montigo Resorts, Nongsa felt like a little slice of heaven away from bustling city life. And who better to welcome us than their adorable resort mascot Tilo, whose name meant ‘incredible little one’.

Samantha: After a 40 minutes ferry ride; my girlfriends and I were all hyped up for a weekend getaway. While it was raining cats and dogs when we arrived at the resort, the staff’s attention to details warmed our hearts. Umbrellas were at the ready and so were welcome drinks.

12pm

Cara: We took our time to settle into our 3-storey villa and noticed that the resort had very kindly prepared a cot, complete with tiny pillows and blankets for our little one. Plus, there was a fully equipped kitchen with an electrical stove and mini fridge. Already, I was feeling at ease.

Samantha: Three girls. One three-storey villa. This could’ve been a train wreck of a reality show except we get along really well. Now that the sun was up, we decided to chill out in our private pool on the ground floor with some in-room dining — what bliss!

4pm

Cara: What’s a holiday without some me time? I checked myself into Montigo Spa for an hour of Indonesian massage, complete with choice of essential oil, and promptly fell asleep under my masseur’s firm yet soothing touch.

Samantha: Our next activity of the day was a 60-minute yoga session in a glass room facing the sea. As the sun rolled into the sea in glorious golden hues, we stretched into guided asanas, as led by an instructor.

6pm

Cara: Back in our villa, we readied ourselves for a private dinner on the rooftop. When we made our way up, we were greeted by the most beautiful sunset and table set up. We were truly in for a feast that night, with seafood, steaks, lamb and grilled vegetables all prepared by a chef before our eyes.

Samantha: After freshening up in our villas, we hopped onto a buggy, which took us to Tadd’s Restaurant. We kicked off dinner with fresh coconut juices before tucking into their signature Rijsttafel Set, which came with a spread of spicy tiger prawns, beef stew, grilled snapper fillet and more.

10pm

Cara: We were completely stuffed by the end of dinner. After a good soak in the villa’s massive bathtub, we retired to bed.

Samantha: The night was still young and so were we. We couldn’t resist ordering some wine and beer, which got delivered to our villa promptly. Thereafter, we spent the rest of the evening chatting on our rooftop, under a blanket of stars.
