One of Angkor Wat’s hidden gems is Ta Prohm, a ‘hidden’ temple which has been featured in the Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider movies. Left neglected over the years, it has been swallowed by the surrounding jungle. It is a beautiful sight to behold as the temple is overrun by flora, evoking a mystical aura.

The sprawling abbey is dusky, humid and filled with squeaking birds. Here, you’ll feel like an explorer, navigating interwoven roots and stones. The best time to visit is early in the morning before the crowds come in.
