2. Awa Odori

Possibly the most famous of all dance festivals held across Japan, Awa Odori is usually celebrate mid-August. It features the famous ‘Fool’s Dance’ and has origins that date back to more than 400 years ago. Keep your eyes peeled for the main spectacle, where large groups of dancers, both amateur and experienced, perform on the streets of downtown Tokushima.
