Gold Coast: What To Do & Where To Stay For A Memorable Trip

Make the most memories within the 70km pristine coastline

Before we headed for the Gold Coast, we thought of the sunny region as a good one- or two-days trip East while visiting the major cities like Melbourne and Sydney. But our five-day stay showed us that the Gold Coast abounds in gorgeous beaches, fun activities and exquisite eats, definitely not enough for just one or two days! We've put together the most unique parts of our experience, marked out by how each activity suits certain types of travel personalities, to help you get the most out of the huge and diverse Gold Coast. Check out our highlights video at the end for a better look at all the fun we had!

Get your adrenaline pumping

After a good chill-out by the beach, you might be looking for some excitement. If you’re up for the challenge, the SkyPoint Climb is a must-do Gold Coast adventure. Rising 270m above ground and into the air, SkyPoint Climb is Australia’s highest external building climb at the 77th floor, and provides unparalleled 360° views of the Gold Coast and beyond. The climb lasts 90 minutes from beginning to end, and you get an awe-inspiring, open-air adventure atop one of Queensland’s most recognised landmarks. Feeling particularly daring? Try leaning forwards on a high step of the climb! You’ll be completely safe, hooked up to strong harnesses from the back, and the feeling of defying gravity is fabulous!
