The Beautiful Green Season
The Green Season runs from November until April and is the time of the year when the brown landscape becomes a lush sea of green. Rainfall is typically in the form of a quick thunderstorm, which usually lasts about an hour or so.
During these months, there is still plenty of sun and there are many wonderful sightings of new-born animals, both big and small, which also increase predator activity. The Green Season is also the perfect time for bird watching as well as photography, with much less dust, crystal-clear air and fantastic sunsets.

Sanctuary Retreats also has offers with great savings at their lodges and camps in Botswana and Zambia during the Green Season. It is valid in Botswana at Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp with eight classic safari-style tents in the Okavango Delta; Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero, a luxurious lodge located on the edge of Chobe National Park with 15 thatched cottages, a full spa and treetop treatment room; and at Sanctuary Chief’s Camp in the exclusive Mombo Concession in the Moremi Game Reserve on Chief’s Island.
