The twin stars in the western Indian Ocean, Mauritius and Reunion Island are largely known as dreamy beach destinations for sun lovers and thrill seekers.

However, as we discovered, there are many more exciting experiences to be had at this paradise.

Mauritius was once a French (1715-1810) and then a British (1810-1968) colony, and while the government uses English as its official language, you’ll hear mostly French being chattered and hollered in the streets.

Club Med, which is a familiar name for its chain hotels, might be the best choice for travellers looking for a hassle-free and totally relaxed holiday. With one-access- to-all operation, all your meal and drink expenses within the resort are taken care of.

The family-friendly ambience relieves your stresses from the fast-paced city life, and of course, the passionate African hospitality and unlimited food and beverages helps one relax even further.

We capped off a wonderful night with great wine and a fascinating music, dance and acrobatic performance, and retired to our rooms, ready to rest for our days of adventure.
