From end-March to early-May, most parts of Japan will turn into a glorious shade of pink, thanks to the sought-after cherry blossom season! 1. Yoshino Park, Kagoshima Prefecture

You’ll kill two birds with a stone when you pop by Kagoshima. Not only will you revel in falling cherry blossoms, forecasted to start flowering on 20 March, but also you can catch a glimpse of the majestic Sakurajima, an active volcano that faces Kinko Bay. Dubbed to one of the rarer species, the Kawazu-zakura cherry blossoms, known for their large petals and the bright pink colour, bloom in this seaside city.
