A Taste of Europe

The couple staying in this 3-bedroom apartment are young and adventurous – qualities that they wanted to have reflected in their first home as a family.

“They’re willing to try out something different, as long as the home is cosy and comfortable,” designer Johnny Tan from Matrix Interior said of his clients. As such, he recommended a classic design concept but elevated it with an air of glamour and romance.

“We took inspiration from a range of European influences like posh Parisian hotels and quaint country cottages,” he said.

“We paid a lot of attention to detail in this home,” said Johnny. “For example, we created wood-framed wallpaper panels on certain parts of the wall, and even the decorative feature wall is made from wood, wallpaper and a black tinted mirror,” he said.

This maximised the potential of every square inch – even the ceiling. Johnny decorated the ceiling with a concentric layout of white loops.
