What: The Illuminate Facial ($406.60 for 75 mins) at Porcelain Aesthetics, promises to brighten up a dull complexion through microdermabrasion, vinotherapy and oxygen infusion.

Tried-and-tested: “It’s not often I’d risk doing a treatment before an event for fear of redness or patchiness, but having heard plenty of good things about Porcelain Aesthetics, I decided to give it a go even though I had a dinner function to attend that night.

Based on my skin type and concerns about pigmentation and dullness, I was recommended to try out the Illuminate Facial.

After removing my makeup with double cleansing, the therapist started the treatment with a 2-in-1 diamante microdermabrasion device that gently removed any excess sebum, dirt, dead skin cells and resurfaced skin through vinotherapy.

Next, my face was infused with oxygen and I also enjoyed an OxyPulse lymphatic drainage massage. As the final touch, a Hydrocare Bio-Cellulose mask was applied to further moisturise skin and seal in the benefits of the treatment.”

Verdict: “Besides the promised glow, I noticed that my skin also looked and felt much firmer. My skincare products also seemed to absorb a lot quicker too.”
