10 Exciting Updates Coming To Your Favourite Apple Products

You’ll soon be able to make online payments via Apple Pay.

1. Apple Pay will be coming to web

Love online shopping? You’ll soon be able to make online payments via Apple Pay, where authentication will work through Touch ID, either through your phone or Apple Watch, eliminating the need for credit card details.

2. Apple Music will undergo a makeover

Expect a complete redesign with easier navigation, a dedicated section for downloaded music, a discovery mix section that will tailor a special playlist according to your musical taste, song lyrics and more.

3. New ways to send messages

iMessage is facing its competitors head on with a revamp that will include larger emoji, handwriting recognition, and even animation effects inclusive of confetti, balloons and strobe lights.

4. Siri welcomes app developers

Despite all the brickbats, Siri looks set to become your favourite voice assistant. Soon, users will be able to get Siri to search for photos on Pinterest, make an Uber booking or even send a message via Whatsapp. The possibilities are infinite!

5. Delete useless default apps

All iPhones come with a bunch of default apps, some of which we rarely use. If you’ve always wished you could delete apps like Compass, Stocks or even Tips, you can soon axe all of them and save some much-needed storage space.

6. Navigate better with maps

If you’ve somehow migrated to using Google Maps, you’re not alone. Apple now wants to lure users back to its Maps by redesigning it with navigation in mind. You’ll be able to book your rides through the app, pay for them with Apple Pay and get this — even make restaurant reservations by pinpointing its destination. Drivers will be happy to know that CarPlay will merge with Maps to show traffic conditions as well as suggest alternative routes.

7. Apple Watch is smarter than before

With watchOS 3, users can expect faster app loading courtesy of background refreshing and memory storage. New features include a “Scribble” keyboard for wearers to rapidly respond to a message, as well as an international SOS function which will call 911 and send location information to emergency contacts, once activated.

8. The name is OS, macOS

The OS X as we know, will has been renamed macOS, with public beta launching in July. Highlights include continuity across multiple Apple devices — from fuss-free copy and paste to the ability to access your Mac desktop on a different computer using iCloud drive.

9. Say hello to iOS 10

The biggest iOS release yet, iOS 10 will include compete redesigns for Music and Maps, as well as an improved 3D touch function. A Raise and Wake function will automatically unlock the screen once you lift your phone, and notifications can be interacted with by means of 3D touch.

10. Do more with Photos

With new features, users will be able to manage their collection of photos more easily than ever. Facial recognition allows photos to be organised by persons, while Memories group photos according to events and locations.
