What’s NYFW without the gorgeous clothes, beautiful models and street style stars?
These three presentations left a deep impression and for good reason.
The whimsical presentation of Alice and Olivia, SS17
Alice & Olivia
The Alice & Olivia presentation was one of the most beautiful shows I’d ever attended.
The collection was inspired by the mysticism of the tarot and the romance of Italy, particularly the Gardens of Bomarzo.
The set itself was gorgeous, with a “Romantic Roman” theme. From the numerous flowers (beautiful multi-coloured roses and vines), to the life-sized Tarot cards, Roman columns and half-naked Greek statues, it almost felt like I was walking into the middle of an ancient ruin.

DKNY
This was definitely a night to remember. As a streetwear lover, I know that designers Dao–Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are big movers and shakers in the streetwear community, and I’ve always been a fan of their work. Seeing their presentation in person was a dream come true.
The energy, sultry dark lips, futuristic sportswear collection, together with a stellar model line up made the show extra memorable.
Michael Kors showroom visit right after the show, first look at SS17 outfits

Sadly, I couldn’t make it down for the Michael Kors SS17 fashion show, but I got upclose and personal with the pretty, candy-coloured togs at the Michael Kors showroom.
Rows and rows of apparel were neatly lined up in the showroom, while press from all around the world took a glimpse of the upcoming collection.
Confession: I also experienced a teeny bit of office envy at the Michael Kors HQ. Besides having a gorgeous view of nearby Bryant Park, the entire space was white, bright, with posh marble floors. Plus, I got a peek into Michael Kors’ working space and all I can say is that his marble table is so neat and super Instagram-worthy!
The Carlyle, New York
Old School Glamour
Located at Upper East Side and built in 1930, The Carlyle exudes rustic charm and modern elegance. All of the 121 guest rooms are furbished in classic Louis XVI style with colour schemes ranging from Chinese red to celadon, offering aristocratic elegance and absolute comfort.
Audubon prints and architectural renderings by Piranesi, as well as English country scenes by Kips adorn the walls. The Carlyle also is home to the Bemelmans Bar, which houses the only surviving public murals of artist/author Ludwig Bemelmans, the creator of the famed Madeline children book series.

For Modern New York
A fixture on Madison Avenue, The Roger New York is a stylish boutique hotel that elevates the big city experience with chic Anna Busta interiors, fabulous display of herringbone wooden floors, blue-velvet chaises lounges and Mad Men-evoking houndstooth chairs.
Almost as stylish as the Madison Avenue boutiques a few blocks away, every inch of the hotel hotel is decorated with striking noir shots of iconic local spots. Plus, it offers a splendid view of the Empire State Building.

A Peek Into The Future
Yotel New York is conveniently located two blocks from Times Square and features 713 cabins. It is also home to YOBOT, the world’s first automatic robotic luggage concierge.
Inspired by luxury aircraft design, the cabins are smartly designed adaptable spaces which offer comfort and convenience. Luxurious but with pocket-friendly room rates, the stylish hotel is replete with contemporary touches, such as white, purple and neon lights.
