Effortless ways to shop for a good cause

Shop, splurge, buy — all for a good cause

Shop these MAC Holiday Kits — for the good of charity

Just take a moment to imagine.

That designer panama hat you splurged on could help aid various charities at a go.

And the set of spanking new gym gear you bought, because you reasoned it’d draw you closer to your fitness goals? It’ll channel funds towards support for breast health awareness.

These days, retail therapy is going beyond its seemingly frivolous pursuits to aid charity, thanks to brands who are dedicated to championing good causes.

In other words, you get to shop for a good social cause — so why not?

Under Armour Women of Will

You might not be able to stretch like Misty, but you can definitely champion a good cause

Fronted by ballerina Misty Copeland, the first African-American performer to be appointed principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre, Under Armour has always been a sports performance label representing the highly-determined and almost rebellious.

As a regional extension of its global women’s campaign Women of Will, Under Armour will be showing its support for breast health through its local Power in Pink initiative.

Ten per cent of sales proceeds from the Power in Pink apparel series will be donated to champion the Singapore Breast Cancer Foundation’s cause to raise awareness on breast health.

Additionally, customers who spend a minimum of S$120 at Under Armour, including a Power in Pink product, will receive a limited-edition Women of Will badge, privileged access to Under Armour’s partner gyms and an exclusive invitation to the Women of Will event on Saturday, 7 Nov, featuring mass yoga, Pilates, outdoor cycling and bootcamp sessions with established gyms at the new Capitol Piazza.

TANGS SFG Ambassadors_Group-3

Meet these personalities at the Tangs Shop For Good event

In light of October being Breast Cancer Awareness month as well as Children’s Day, Tangs has launched a social movement very aptly titled Shop For Good.

As a social movement that encourages cause-conscious retailing and shopping, every brand partner of Tangs can either contribute to their preferred charity or the Tangs-nominated beneficiary — Singapore Children’s Society.

In addition to these contributions, Tangs will also donate 50 cents for every receipt generated between Oct 1 and Nov 1.

If you’d like to shop alongside well-known personalities like Andrea Chong, Derek Ong, Charmaine Seah-Ong, Eugene Lim and Joseph Lor who are Shop For Good 2015’s ambassadors, be sure to head down to the Shop For Good Event on Oct 10, 2-6pm.

Shoppers can expect an afternoon of good shopping and fun as the ambassadors share the good of responsible shopping.
