With the fiery debacle that took place last year, one can hazard a guess that there is more pressure riding on Samsung's next iteration. But like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Samsung has brushed off the naysayers and released the Galaxy Note 8, in pretty colourways of Orchid Gray, Maple Gold and Deep Sea Blue - just to name a few.

3. It now boasts dual camera

Better late than never, the Note8 has finally jumped on the bandwagon of the dual camera trend that has already been adopted by the likes of Apple, LG and Huawei.

While the eight-megapixel front camera offers facial recognition and iris scanning technology, it is the 12-megapixel rear camera that is the bee’s knees. The second lens allows you to take more depth-of-field photos with the bokeh effect. But that’s not all – the Live Focus feature allows you to adjust the bokeh, before or after the photo is snapped. Another cool feature is the Dual Capture, giving you the liberty to take two shots at the same time, one zoomed and the other wide angle.
