A search for Kawachi Fuji Garden even on all-knowing Google offers very little information. But this elusive fairy land is no fantasy – Kitakyushu’s wisteria flower tunnel may be hard to get to, but it’s totally worth the visit.

Garlands of purple wisteria flowers trail downwards from the arch, forming a magical, ethereal pathway. Catch it during its Golden Week between April and May, when the wisterias are in full bloom.

Kawachi Fuji Garden is located in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture. Its nearest station is Yahata Station, where you can hop on a 20-minute taxi ride to the garden.
