What we use: Nikon D5500

Why we like it: For our debut overseas fashion week, we worked with Nikon Singapore to capture the best of the runway. DSLRs may be tricky to use, but the 24.2 megapixel DX-format D5500 made capturing shots of models moving down the runway and celebrity wefies, a breeze.

Why it stands out: The WiFi enabled camera made it convenient to transfer photos directly from the camera to the phone. The vari-angle LCD monitor has touch-screen control and intelligent eye-sensor for optimized image review. All you have to do is to open up the Nikon WMU camera app, select the photos and transfer them over to your phone.

What we use: Apple iPhone 6S

Why we like it: Few things are handier than an Apple iPhone 6S to capture fleeting moments. We used iMovie extensively for video editing and the camera took fantastic selfies with its Slo-Mo and Time Lapse functions.

Why it stands out: During fashion shows, we recorded soundbites using Voice Memos, and experiences were captured on 4K video mode for recaps. The Peek and Pop function also made checking emails easier on-the-go.

What we use: Miniso Mini Wired Selfie Stick

Why we like it: All we had to do was to place the selfie stick’s cord into the aux cord opening, and with a press of the button, take crystal clear and sharp images.

Why it stands out: With a wallet friendly price tag of $3.90, this selfie stick was truly useful during fashion week.

What we use: Mi Power Bank 10,00mAh

Why we like it: Running out of battery is one of the worst things that can happen when you’re doing on-ground reporting. With the Mi Power Bank 10,00mAh, our gadgets lasted through an entire day of jam-packed activities. Its business card size and sleek aluminium finish also makes it a fashionable addition to our get-up.

Why it stands out: It’s water and corrosion resistant! Best of all, it requires less than four hours to fully charge a phone up to six times.

What we use: Raden Smart Luggage

Why we like it: Not only does this the Raden Smart Luggage ($400) have charging ports for our gadgets on-the-go, it also comes in seven colours and a myriad of finishes. With 360-degree turning wheels, its lightweight yet hardy frame easily survived New York’s bumpy floors.

Why it stands out: Besides being tech-savvy, its Makrolon polycarbonate body makes it a sturdy stool. We stood on the luggage at the photographer’s’ podium to get a better view of the runway, without fear of it breaking.
