British television programme, Sherlock sweeps the Emmys 2014

Breakout success detective television series Sherlock has not only propelled Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman into the limelight, they have also won legions of fans from all over the world. And apparently they’ve won over the Emmy panel as well.

 Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman bagged who play Sherlock and Watson respectively won ‘Outstanding lead actor in a miniseries or movie’ and ‘Outstanding supporting actor in a miniseries or movie’ respectively while co-creator and writer for the series, Steven Moffatt, won ‘Outstanding writing in a miniseries or movie’.

Idris Elba has gone on to act in Thor and Pacific Rim
Other nominees in the category included Idris Elba for the BBC series, Luther.
On Jul 2, Sherlock was renewed for a fourth season. The three-episode series is to be aired in early 2016, following a full-length Christmas 2015 special.
Both Sherlock & Luther have aired on BBC Entertainment in Asia.
