Having done so many countdown shows, what have you learned from them?

Not everyone who attends the countdown show is there for my performance. Some are just there for the New Year atmosphere, while there are also fans who worked hard to catch me. Yet, everyone can come together to enjoy the celebration.

Especially during the countdown, even when you’re standing on stage next to people you may have just met, you get the feeling of warmth and friendship.

Any particularly memorable year?

Every New Year has been unforgettable for me, and the best memories were because of the weather. In Taiwan, New Year’s is always very cold and the wind blows strongly – so we always have to find creative ways of keeping warm while performing in our costumes.

One year, there was such a crazy jam and I was due on stage for the countdown. I managed to reach at the 20-second mark! It was so nerve-wracking but now, it’s become a happy memory for me.
