The Quiet Ones: Cure one patient, cure mankind

A group of rising stars shine in this new retro-horror classic

Following the international hit The Woman in Black, Hammer Films’ new retro-horror film brings an up and coming cast into the spotlight with this terrifying story.

Demons Don’t Exist?

Joseph Coupland (played by Jared Harris of “Mad Men” and Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) is a university psychology professor with extremely unorthodox methods. He is joined by a group of amateurs in his investigation into the mentally-unstable Jane Harper (played by Olivia Cooke, who starred as Emma in the recent “Bates Motel”).

Holding on to his own belief that supernatural forces do not exist, Coupland insists that Jane’s alter ego, Evey, is simply a manifestation of her own telekinetic powers, which can be used to cure all mental illnesses.

Based on Actual Events

The Quiet Ones is loosely based on the 1972 “Philips Experiment”, which sought to prove that ghosts are constructs of the human mind. Of course, it was without the satanic rituals, high body count and love triangles involving the supernatural that you will see in this movie.

Rising Stars

Perhaps not as glamorous as the likes of Daniel Radcliffe in The Woman in Black, the group of talent that makes up the cast is still fresh and relatively unknown. Accompanying Harris and Cooke is Sam Claflin, of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, as well as The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & 2.

You decide how these young stars fair on the big stage.
