Universal Pictures has announced on its Twitter that the global musical phenomenon, “Wicked: The Untold Stories of the Witches of Oz”, will be getting its own movie.
In fact, a release date has already been confirmed: 20 Dec, 2019.
It might be a long wait for fans, but it will most likely be worth it. Wicked is one of the longest-running musicals of all time, and follows an alternative storyline of the witches glimpsed in the classic “Wizard of Oz” fairytale.
There has been much buzz about the potential production since 2010, when it was first reported to be a movie, then a TV series, then again a movie.
But now that it’s finally confirmed, we’re sitting tight for news about who will direct and star in this one.
