Actor-director Ben Affleck will star in his own Batman movie, Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara just confirmed at this year’s CinemaCon.

Tsujihara announced that the company is “working with” Affleck on the upcoming movie, suggesting that the actor may be involved in directing or producing it as well.

If true, this wouldn’t be Affleck’s first time taking on multiple production roles in a movie. He was involved in rewriting some parts of the Batman v Superman script. Before that, his portfolio as a director-actor includes the 2012 Oscar-winning Argo and 2010’s hit The Town.

This news comes after mixed reactions to the recent Batman v Superman movie, which Affleck responds to in the viral “Sad Affleck” interview:

Critics are hopeful about Affleck’s involvement in the standalone Batman film. They speculate it to be a “step in the right direction for DC fans” following the less than favourable reviews for Batman v Superman, which was directed by Zack Snyder.

What do you think – is Affleck the director Gotham deserves and needs right now?
