Here’s where — and how — to get your scare fix for Halloween

Boo! If you’re not already busy getting scared silly at one of the freaky haunted houses this year, here’s where else you can enjoy Halloween without so much of the horror.

To eat

1. MEATliquor’s Duxton Hell feast

[MEATliquor] Dirty Chicken Cheeseburger

Get ready to boogie with the ghouls at MEATliquor’s Halloween party, Duxton Hell, on Oct 31, from 10pm to 4am.

Visitors will be entertained by projection mapping and 3D imagery, as the restaurant gets transformed into a macabre den, complete with veteran DJ Stephen Day spinning a mishmash of beats.

Other highlights includes a line-up of delicious burgers and specially crafted cocktails such as Nelson’s Blood and the infamous House Grog.

2. Free Guzman y Gomez burritos

It’s not everyday that we hear of yummy food being given out for free — but when it happens, you can bet we’re first in the queue.

Mexican outlet Guzman y Gomez is opening their third outlet in Singapore at The Star Vista and they’re inviting everyone down for free freshly made-to-order burritos and burrito bowls on Oct 31.

Be there or be hungry, we say.

If you need a breather from the weekend crowds, why not head to a quieter part of Singapore for a zichar feast?

Eating house and cafe by day, Third Place is a dining concept in Tuas that transforms into a zichar restaurant at night.

Dishes like the beautifully braised and fragrant Beancurd with Hon-Shimeji Mushroom will be worth your journey.

What happened between that time, and what delayed the development of the public Chinese cemetery? Find out the lost history of Singapore’s cemeteries and take your Halloween to the next dimension!

2. Catch a horror movie marathon

Too timid to experience horror stories come alive in 4D, but still want a good scare? Then stick to the movie screen and go on a horror movie marathon. This weekend, the screenings will be at Suntec City (Oct 30) and Yishun (Oct 31).

3. Visit the mega Hello Kitty carnival

Hello Kitty lovers, you don’t want to miss this. Hello Kitty Go Around!! is the first-ever Kitty carnival held outside Hong Kong. It’s so highly-anticipated that even the name of the carnival, with all its exclamation marks, can’t contain its excitement.

You’ll have a whale of a time at this old-school cool carnival, featuring Papa’s Reading Room, the Apple Temple and Save the Goldfish, among many other attractions.
