For the next two years at least as the Korean heartthrob will be enlisting in the army soon

We’re guessing there’ll be an impending festival of waterworks from heartbroken fans as famous actor Lee Jong Suk is set to bow out of the limelight for a while. He, like fellow famous oppas such as BigBang’s T.O.P and Lee Min Ho, will be enlisting in the army for the next two years.

While one may shudder at the thought that his luscious locks will be a thing of the past (to abide by military regiments), the Korean heartthrob seems to be determined to make a lasting impression before his poignant exit.

Teaming up with the people behind the hit dramas such as My Love From The Star and Pinocchio, Lee Jong Suk stars in a romantic drama While You Were Sleeping, alongside Korean A-lister, Bae Suzy.

The highly-anticipated supernatural drama narrates the story of Nam Hong Joo, an unemployed journalist (played by Bae Suzy), born with a supernatural ability that enables her to foresee events in her sleep. Determined to prevent her bad dreams from turning into reality, the troubled journalist teams up with Prosecutor Jung Jae Chan (played by Lee Jong Suk) as they rally to stop the ill-fated events from happening.

Speaking of making a lasting impression, the Korean actress has traded her long tresses for a short hairdo in her bid to embrace her character entire. Her bombshell demeanor now reflects a girl-next-door kind of vibe, which we’re totally digging!

While You Were Sleeping premieres 27 September and airs every Wednesday and Thursday at 9pm on Viu and  Channel ONE, available through Singtel TV Ch 513 & 604, as well as StarHub TV Ch 124, 820 & 823;
