As the only female member of the Justice League, Wonder Woman is highly regarded as one of the best superheroes around.

Now, she’s finally getting her own full-length theatrical release to much anticipation from fans and feminists alike.

The blockbuster, which is the fourth movie in the DC Extended Universe series,  will focus on Wonder Woman’s beginnings before she became part of Justice League.

1. A bonafide feminist icon

Brought to life by comic book artist William Moulton Marston, Wonder Woman was a role model for liberated women. The strong warrior came from Themyscira, a land where only Amazonian warrior women lived — a nod to his belief that women were in fact superior.
