World Vegan Month 2018: Where To Eat And What To Do In Singapore

It's the best month to find out more about going vegan

November is World Vegan Month! It used to be just one World Vegan Day, on 1 November, but that slowly grew into World Vegan Week, and now we have a whole month to celebrate the vegan lifestyle every year, all over the world. More than just a fad, cutting out all animal ingredients from your diet and daily products goes far to benefit the planet, animals, and our own health.

More and more people around the world are adopting the vegan lifestyle, and that includes Singapore, too. Whether you're already a vegan, or you're vegan curious, we've got lots of ideas for how you can mark the special day and month with your loved ones in Singapore. Here's a handy chart by Animal Allies Singapore, compiling the biggest activities lined up, followed by our own selected highlights:

2. Order in a vegan meal with your family

Too tired after a long day of work to eat out? We feel you. That’s why we love that Deliveroo is celebrating World Vegan Day this year. Our nation’s beloved food delivery service teamed up with two awesome burger joints to create two unique vegan burgers, now exclusively available from Deliveroo, hot and fresh. They’re so good, the meat-lovers in our Weekender team loved the burgers just as much as our resident vegan!

HANS IM GLÜCK’s HERBSTRAUM Burger ($17; pictured above) is joy between two breads. The veggie patty is slightly spicy and topped with the restaurant’s secret sauce. We really love the inclusion of vegetable ratatouille and avocado cream – this going above and beyond the usual burger deserves praise.

The vegan burger by WOLF Burgers ($19) tastes so much like a beef cheeseburger, we couldn’t believe it wasn’t real meat and cheese. The patty is all the doing of the famous Beyond Meat from Los Angeles, while the cheese is made from tofu.

You can get both burgers delivered hot and fresh to your doorstep now, along with other great vegan offerings from Deliveroo. They’d be great to surprise your meat-loving family and friends, whom we bet would not miss the taste of meat.
